Our captains have been fishing the area for over 35 years and have caught every saltwater species in the area. Captain Scott Thompson is a local fishing expert that will put you on fish and enrich you with years of knowledge of Marathon Beach.

Captain Scott had the pleasure of fishing with a wonderful family this month. Amauri, his brother Marcos, his son Marcos and his son Marco along with two young ladies came out to explore what offshore fishing had to offer. They were traveling from Brazil to spend some time at this beautiful destination. While here, they had to get out in the deep blue sea.

Marathon Deep Sea FishingThey adventured out on a two day fishing charter out of Marathon Beach. The weather conditions were great on both days. Sea conditions were not as great on the first day creating an opportunity to fish closer to shore. While fishing there, they caught several species of fish. The main catch was migrating and spawning Redfish. Most of the catches of redfish weighed in at 20-50 pounds.

Sea conditions laid down and allowed them to go offshore the second day. Bottom fishing was what they wanted to do while offshore fishing. Captain Scott took them 25 miles offshore to one of his productive bottom fishing spots. After several drops, they started hooking into big red snapper. Cut bait was the magic on this fishing trip.

This awesome group got to experience many different catches. They had a grouper on as well but you have to know how to fish for them. When grouper get hooked into, they want to run and dig into the rocks. Once this happens, you are most likely going to lose the fish.

Some additional species caught were sea bass. Sea bass can be caught on the bottom as well. Interesting enough, the reef they were fishing also was holding barracuda. This group really enjoyed landing a 5 foot barracuda.

Captain Scott really enjoyed fishing with these clients. It is always nice to be able to share something you love with travelers and visitors. Captain Scott holds Marathon Beach close to his heart and would love to show you what is so magical about this destination. He looks forward to seeing you on the water next time.

Family Redfish Fishing Charter in Marathon Beach, FL

Family Redfish Fishing Charter

Outdoor activities can be the perfect way to spend quality time with your families. When you are visiting Florida, enjoy some time in the great outdoors. Florida has endless opportunities to do this because of the expansive natural habitats. Redfish have flourished here in Marathon Beach and we would love for you to catch the biggest one of your life. Come enjoy a family redfish fishing charter next time traveling to the state!

Sit back and enjoy as our local experts take you on an adventure of a lifetime. All you have to do is step on board and everything else will be taken care of you. After meeting your captain at the boat ramp, you will get a chance to enjoy the scenery on the way to your fishing spot. Captain Brad Kayholm will be your local expert for catching redfish in Marathon Beach. He has years of experience of catching some of the biggest redfish you will ever see.

October was a very strong month for catching redfish here in North Florida. As the months roll on, the fishing will continue to be strong. You may have to be more patient as the temperatures drop but you will still have a great chance at catching some big fish. Sometimes being out on the water isn’t about catching big fish. North Florida Fishing is more about being outdoors while the weather is cooler. Setting the hook is an added bonus as well as a trophy class fish. Many people lose touch with the activity of fishing rather than catching. Enjoy the process of catching a fish and it will make that catch even better.

Luckily, when you are traveling to Marathon Beach during these fall months you have a great chance at catching some quality fish and numbers of different species. Captain Brad had the pleasure of fishing with Ray, his wife Peggy and their grandson Raymond. After conversing for multiple months about when the best time to come fishing, the decided October was going to be the best time. Just to get out on the boat and on the water made all that time worth it.

Family Redfish Fishing Charter 3Redfish fishing can get slow at times, hence the reason why you have to stay patient. The Marathon Beach waters hold resident trophy redfish so you can also find several nice ones. Ray and his family caught a nice redfish right off the bat. It was a 31 inch redfish that put some smiles on the faces of Ray and his family. Ray was here to help his wife Peggy catch the fish of her dreams, a big bull redfish over 40 inches. After some time of not finding this fish where they caught the first one, Captain Brad made some changes.

One of the downfalls of fishing in Florida is that you can experience some boat traffic. Boat traffic will prevent you from getting in your fishing spots. Also, the amount of vibration the boats give off while slow the bite down and keep the fish away. When you are Florida Inshore Fishing, you have to make sure that you choose the right times and tides to go fishing. Find quiet times when the tides are moving right and get out on the water.

Due to slower action, Captain Brad made a decision to head further south of Marathon Beach looking for better waters. It was not long after getting there that they got in on some action. Drifting is the best technique to cover water and catch redfish. You have to drift with live bait in order to have the best success in catching some quality fish. Whether you want to use crabs, pin fish, mullet or croakers is completely your preference. They are all effective especially this time of year.

Family Redfish Fishing Charter 1

As a result of moving, they were reward with the fish they were looking for. 8 year old Raymond was up to bat as the rod starting going off. Watching the bait being eaten is one of the most exciting parts of catching big redfish. Raymond was hooked up on a nice redfish and was fighting it all by himself. Just to watch this little man fight this fish was an absolute blast. Every time the redfish would make a hard run and take drag his face would light up. Raymond was sitting on a cooler as he was fighting and as the fish pulled he would get lifted slightly making for an even better experience. It was a true fight that made the trip truly special.

Captain Brad admits that this was one of the most unique battles that he had the chance to experience. Certainly, it is moments like this that make being a fishing captain one of the best jobs ever. Just to provide a family with this much joy makes all the hard work so much sweeter. The action was not over as several other big redfish made it to the boat.

Family Redfish Fishing Charter 2When you key in on a technique make sure you don’t change things up to quickly. Starting our drift over, the action persisted. Peggy was up next! All Peggy wanted was a trophy redfish for her birthday. She has always wanted one over 40 inches and this was the trip that could make it happen. It was not long into the next drift that a fish ate the bait. The next big battle began as her fish was fighting and running hard. Peggy fought the redfish to the boat and once it was landed started shaking with excitement. Captain Brad put it on the deck and measured it. Peggy got her birthday gift catching a 41 inch Redfish making this trip a success. It was another amazing experience to watch someone live in a moment they will never forget. Peggy was shaking with accomplishment and excitement making everything so much more precious.

Ray was up next for his 40 incher but unfortunately could not find it. The battle for Peggy though was not over as the next drift landed her another battle with a 40 inch redfish. Redfish fishing in Marathon Beach will be something they never forget!

Captain Brad is truly honored to be part of this incredible outdoor experience. Ray will be back for more and in search for his trophy redfish. You just never know when the bite will come!

Marathon Beach is a prime Inshore Fishing destination. Redfish Fishing is absolutely fantastic this time of year. You can also enjoy an abundance of other species as well. Every adventure will be a unique experience for you and your family. When you are visiting North Florida, getting outdoors is a must especially on a family redfish fishing charter! Every year people travel to Florida and specifically Marathon Beach to come catch this Bull Redfish. A last minute change to plans led 90 year old Chris and his grandson Christopher on an amazing journey to catch redfish. Mosquito Lagoon has been one of the most productive areas to do this in the whole state. Due to the excellent conditions even though it has its water issues, you can catch big redfish here most of the year.

The main goal of this fishing charter was landing the biggest fish of their life. They wanted to shatter both of their redfish records. The west coast has some excellent fishing as well but nothing like this east coast action. It was a must that they traveled from Tampa to search out a bucket list fish. Consequently, they ended up catching multiple oversized bull redfish.

Captain Brad, put Chris and Christopher on 7 oversized bull redfish. One of the fish was 46 inches long and got to live another day. As well, one of the redfish was truly unique. Florida Trophy Redfish Fishing Charter in Marathon Beach

Florida Trophy Redfish Fishing

September starts a season of some of the best inshore fishing in Florida. Explore the backwaters of different cities to uncover an experience worth-while. Trophy Florida Redfish Fishing is here and will be absolutely amazing all the way until November. If you haven’t caught one yet, now is the time to adventure out and do so. Marathon Beach is a hot spot for producing countless numbers of trophy classed fish.

The Halifax River is the major waterway that drains and leads to the Mosquito Lagoon. It exits and meets up with the Atlantic Ocean at Ponce de Leon Inlet. This inlet is famous for gateways to the Gulf Stream and exceptional Marathon Beach offshore fishing. As the water moves past the inlet, it enters the Indian River. Indian River provides waterways, marshes, estuaries and backwaters for hunting down your favorite inshore fishing species. You can count of catches of Big Bull Red Fish but also gator sea trout, snook, jack crevalles and more!

In order to have a successful day on the water, you have to have some expert knowledge of how to target these species. Our local expert Captains have years of experience learning new ways and effective methods in order to catch the biggest fish out of the Indian River. Trophy Redfish are common if you know how to target them. When you fish with us, you will only get the best Captains that will put you on the fish of your lifetime.

Captain Brad Kayholm is our local expert in Marathon Beach. His main focus is putting clients on the biggest inshore species. Dialing in how to catch Trophy Florida Redfish has been a time consuming but rewarding process. Endless smiles, high fives and laughs come from fishing with Captain Brad.

Captain Brad had the pleasure of fishing with his brother Jeff. Some days you have to adventure out with family and put them on their fish of their dreams. One of the most rewarding parts about this fishing trip is that Jeff brought along his 4 year old son, Mason. The original fishing plans were to go offshore but conditions were unpredictable. When this occurs the best bet was to go Marathon Beach inshore fishing in hunt for a Red Fish.

Trophy Florida Redfish Fishing 2

One of the lost arts about being in the outdoors and more specifically fishing is patience. Firstly, when you go fishing, you can’t always expect to catch fish. You are not obligated to a fish but putting yourself in the best position to do so. The people that stay patient are usually the ones that are rewarded.

Captain Brad has a repertoire of different locations that produce fish during these next couple of months. Sometimes you have to travel to multiple locations in order to locate where the red fish are moving to. Throughout these next couple of months, live bait will be the most effective method to catching red fish. We would advise using crabs or pin fish in order to target these bigger fish.

Just shortly after casting out our bait, Jeff was hooked up. You could tell that this fish was big as the drag peeled off the reel and the rod was bent. It took several hard runs making for a fight of a lifetime. The first fish Jeff landed was a 47 inch Bull Redfish. It was not long after this fish that Jeff was hooked up again, bringing another trophy Florida redfish to the boat. Jeff caught his second trophy measuring in at 46 inches. You may think this is unheard of but this area in Northeast Florida is known to produce some of the best redfish fishing in the world.

The best part about Trophy Florida Redfish Fishing was the ability to see and share these special moments with clients or family. Just watching the expressions of Mason as his dad reeled in this monster fish was worth the trip. Mason even laid down next to the fish. The redfish was almost the size of Mason and it was absolutely incredible to be able to show him the potential of our fisheries here in Florida.

July has been ultra productive in catching big redfish. Brittany and her husband were on their honeymoon in Marathon Beach and wanted to explore and catch some redfish here in Florida. One of the many rewards for our captains is spending moments like this with their clients and providing memories worth a lifetime.

As routine, Captain Brad called Brittany the night before their fishing trip to confirm all the details the morning was going to bring. Brittany expressed that she wanted one thing and one thing only, a GIANT BULL RED FISH.

Marathon redfish fishing did not let them down. It was not long into their trip that they got the bite they wanted. After a short but long 10 minute battle, Brittany’s redfish showed itself. When that fish revealed itself on the surface laughter and screams let out. It is only natural that this would happen as this fish was a true Bull and Trophy.

Furthermore, the hard fight redfish put up will send adrenaline through your veins. It is one of the most exhilarating feelings you will ever get. If you love to fish, this is the best fish to come catch. Brittany tired out her trophy catch and brought it to the boat. After an amazing fight, Captain Brad netted this beauty, got a quick measurement and the most tantalizing photo you can get.

The Catch

Brittany’s Bull and Trophy Redfish measured in at 44” long. You truly can’t beat the action here in Northeast Florida. After capturing the moment, Brittany got to release this magical beast back into the waters of Marathon.

Most noteworthy, Catch and Release is our preferred method when fishing for big game fish. We strive to preserve our ecosystems but also provide someone else the opportunity to catch that trophy again.

Captain Brad was thoroughly excited for this amazing new married couple for landing this fish. It is memories like this that will not only last a lifetime for the Captain but also this couple. Port Canaveral Fishing

Florida is home to the BEST inshore fishing that you can experience. From east to west, you can find excellent destinations to search for your targeted species. Cape Canaveral is on the upper east coast of Florida with exceptional fishing you can experience. You will never go wrong Port Canaveral Fishing for Redfish, Snook or an abundance of other great Florida Fishing species.

Captain Mark Gay adventured out with Leon Scott in search for an incredible fishing experience. Leon was traveling from Maryland to specifically come fishing on the Space Coast. Port Canaveral has always been a place he wanted to explore since it was known for its incredible Inshore Fishing. Early summer months are the perfect time to come crush some of the best inshore species around.

Fishing conditions were ideal for a day on the water. We adventured out of Freddie Patrick Park, located on the Port’s south side near Jetty Park. The inshore waters were calm on this fishing trip reaching a max of 2 feet at times. Most of those seas did not truly affect us as we fished the inshore along the beach and rocky shores.
