Florida Trophy Redfish Fishing Charter in Marathon Beach

Florida Trophy Redfish Fishing

September starts a season of some of the best inshore fishing in Florida. Explore the backwaters of different cities to uncover an experience worth-while. Trophy Florida Redfish Fishing is here and will be absolutely amazing all the way until November. If you haven’t caught one yet, now is the time to adventure out and do so. Marathon Beach is a hot spot for producing countless numbers of trophy classed fish.

The Halifax River is the major waterway that drains and leads to the Mosquito Lagoon. It exits and meets up with the Atlantic Ocean at Ponce de Leon Inlet. This inlet is famous for gateways to the Gulf Stream and exceptional Marathon Beach offshore fishing. As the water moves past the inlet, it enters the Indian River. Indian River provides waterways, marshes, estuaries and backwaters for hunting down your favorite inshore fishing species. You can count of catches of Big Bull Red Fish but also gator sea trout, snook, jack crevalles and more!

In order to have a successful day on the water, you have to have some expert knowledge of how to target these species. Our local expert Captains have years of experience learning new ways and effective methods in order to catch the biggest fish out of the Indian River. Trophy Redfish are common if you know how to target them. When you fish with us, you will only get the best Captains that will put you on the fish of your lifetime.

Captain Brad Kayholm is our local expert in Marathon Beach. His main focus is putting clients on the biggest inshore species. Dialing in how to catch Trophy Florida Redfish has been a time consuming but rewarding process. Endless smiles, high fives and laughs come from fishing with Captain Brad.

Captain Brad had the pleasure of fishing with his brother Jeff. Some days you have to adventure out with family and put them on their fish of their dreams. One of the most rewarding parts about this fishing trip is that Jeff brought along his 4 year old son, Mason. The original fishing plans were to go offshore but conditions were unpredictable. When this occurs the best bet was to go Marathon Beach inshore fishing in hunt for a Red Fish.

Trophy Florida Redfish Fishing 2

One of the lost arts about being in the outdoors and more specifically fishing is patience. Firstly, when you go fishing, you can’t always expect to catch fish. You are not obligated to a fish but putting yourself in the best position to do so. The people that stay patient are usually the ones that are rewarded.

Captain Brad has a repertoire of different locations that produce fish during these next couple of months. Sometimes you have to travel to multiple locations in order to locate where the red fish are moving to. Throughout these next couple of months, live bait will be the most effective method to catching red fish. We would advise using crabs or pin fish in order to target these bigger fish.

Just shortly after casting out our bait, Jeff was hooked up. You could tell that this fish was big as the drag peeled off the reel and the rod was bent. It took several hard runs making for a fight of a lifetime. The first fish Jeff landed was a 47 inch Bull Redfish. It was not long after this fish that Jeff was hooked up again, bringing another trophy Florida redfish to the boat. Jeff caught his second trophy measuring in at 46 inches. You may think this is unheard of but this area in Northeast Florida is known to produce some of the best redfish fishing in the world.

The best part about Trophy Florida Redfish Fishing was the ability to see and share these special moments with clients or family. Just watching the expressions of Mason as his dad reeled in this monster fish was worth the trip. Mason even laid down next to the fish. The redfish was almost the size of Mason and it was absolutely incredible to be able to show him the potential of our fisheries here in Florida.

Ponce Inlet Snapper Fishing Charter in Marathon Beach Florida

Ponce Inlet Snapper Fishing

August was an amazing month for offshore fishing in Marathon Beach. Taking a quick cruise to the Atlantic Gulf Stream or the local reefs and wrecks produced a steady bite for its visitors. August was also the month that Red Snapper Season opened up for several weekends. Ponce Inlet Red Snapper Fishing was one of the best experiences here in North Florida along the east coast.

Just south of Daytona Beach, you will find the entrance to the great Atlantic Ocean. While cruising through the intercoastal waterways to get there, enjoy the sights and wonders of North Florida. As you travel out of Ponce Inlet make sure you capture Florida’s tallest lighthouse as the sun breaks the horizon.

Our local experts have years of experience cruising these waters and getting out to the local reefs for an abundance of species. Some of our experts have learned a variety of techniques including inshore fishing and offshore fishing. When the weather gets rough, you can always come in and catch some great species on lighter tackle. Ponce Inlet deep sea Fishing has been where it is at though when the weather permits.

Captain Brad Kayholm had the pleasure of fishing with Ariel and Tai. They were traveling from California and Japan to do business at a convention. It was a fun morning with the owners of Jackall Lures this summer. The fish were all fired up and ready to be caught. Ponce Inlet and Marathon Beach gives access to some of the best waters to catch Red Snapper and Mango Snapper. Sometimes when you go out you come across other species that can change the plans or direction of your fishing adventure on a Ponce Inlet snapper fishing trip.

Ponce Inlet Snapper Fishing 1

Ariel and Tai wanted to catch mango and red snapper. They got the mango snapper all fired up on the local reef and started reeling them in. It was awesome to have a school of great fish below the boat. Sometimes when you fire up a school and you put out bait and get the water chummed up, you happen to acquire some unwanted guests. Tai was looking for a good fight and he sure got one.

As they were reeling in a mango snapper left and right, they wanted to go for something bigger. Chunking out bigger bait and letting it get to the bottom, it was not long until something picked it up. Tai was in for a long 20 minute fight that he actually had to have Aerial assist him with. The tax men were in town and they brought one to the boat. They caught a 7 foot, roughly 200 pound reef shark. It was an awesome fight. You just never know what you will catch on a Marathon Beach Fishing Charter. When you bottom fish like such, you will always encounter sharks whether you are catching them or they steal your struggling fish you just hooked. Ponce Inlet Snapper Fishing 2

After getting taxed as they call it, the bite slowed down. After some time, the red snapper moved in. Ariel and Tai had a lot of fun catching several of them before the bite shut off. It was not long after the bite shut down that we decided to move inshore in order to catch a Red Fish. Unfortunately this trip was on the weekend and the red fish were lock jawed.

Captain Brad had an awesome time with Ariel and Tai. They are looking forward to getting back on the water next time they visit Florida. You truly can’t beat what this beautiful area of Florida can offer you. Don’t miss out on your adventure in search for your inshore or offshore species of your dreams. Marathon Beach can most certainly accomplish your goals and dreams right here in Florida. We can’t wait to see you on the water next time!

Marathon Redfish Fishing for Bull Reds

July has been ultra productive in catching big redfish. Brittany and her husband were on their honeymoon in Marathon Beach and wanted to explore and catch some redfish here in Florida. One of the many rewards for our captains is spending moments like this with their clients and providing memories worth a lifetime.

As routine, Captain Brad called Brittany the night before their fishing trip to confirm all the details the morning was going to bring. Brittany expressed that she wanted one thing and one thing only, a GIANT BULL RED FISH.

Marathon redfish fishing did not let them down. It was not long into their trip that they got the bite they wanted. After a short but long 10 minute battle, Brittany’s redfish showed itself. When that fish revealed itself on the surface laughter and screams let out. It is only natural that this would happen as this fish was a true Bull and Trophy.

Furthermore, the hard fight redfish put up will send adrenaline through your veins. It is one of the most exhilarating feelings you will ever get. If you love to fish, this is the best fish to come catch. Brittany tired out her trophy catch and brought it to the boat. After an amazing fight, Captain Brad netted this beauty, got a quick measurement and the most tantalizing photo you can get.

The Catch

Brittany’s Bull and Trophy Redfish measured in at 44” long. You truly can’t beat the action here in Northeast Florida. After capturing the moment, Brittany got to release this magical beast back into the waters of Marathon.

Most noteworthy, Catch and Release is our preferred method when fishing for big game fish. We strive to preserve our ecosystems but also provide someone else the opportunity to catch that trophy again.

Captain Brad was thoroughly excited for this amazing new married couple for landing this fish. It is memories like this that will not only last a lifetime for the Captain but also this couple. They get to start a new incredible relationship and chapter of their life landing her dream fish. Captain Brad is looking forward to the opportunity to tempt to break this catch next time they are visiting Florida.
